Individual Therapy

Your Life, Your Story

At the root of my practice with adults is a belief in the great strength of people. I believe that many personal problems stem not from innate faults, but from negative, toxic and unhealthy patterns or “stories” dominating life. It is when we stop growing and learning from our experiences that we become unhealthy and fall into painful and unhelpful patterns.

My practice is rooted in narrative and systems theory as well as mindfulness practice. I believe that healing happens not in a vacuum, but in conjunction with family, and friends and community. I support my clients in trying to connect with their emotions and others in a balanced and thoughtful way. I incorporate a whole-person approach by encouraging clients to seek that which sustains them in all areas of life.

I work with adults of all ages and specialize in stress management, anxiety and depression, mindfulness practice and relationship issues. I have experience treating adults with substance use and serious mental illness. Throughout the process, I will support you feeling empowered and capable of change. Therapy will focus on both where your narrative has gotten “stuck” and on developing concrete tools you can use in day to day life at home, work and in the world. I strive to always give honest yet sensitive feedback, and you should leave every session feeling both supported and challenged. Call or email today to get started.
